Lyndon W. Smokey Carrier, 64, of The Villages, Florida, formerly Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Bethany Riverside Nursing Home in La Crosse.

He was born October 29, 1948 in La Crosse to Selma (Klinski) and Willis Carrier. He graduated from Luther High School in 1967.

He moved to Eau Claire in 1981. On March 17, 1989 he married Marilynn Alm in Stillwater, MN.

He was employed at Chistopherson Patterns in Chippewa Falls. He purchased the business and owned and operated it until he sold it due to his ill health. Smokey was a heart transplant recipient in 2004.

Smokey loved to fish. He spent many enjoyable hours salmon fishing on his boat on Lake Michigan. He moved to Florida in 2010 and since living there he enjoyed deep sea fishing and his latest adventure was crocodile hunting.

Survivors include his mother, Selma Carrier of La Crosse; two daughters, Becky (Nate) Selmer of Chippewa Falls, Nicole (Kevin) Loomis of Eau Claire; a son, Lucas (Catherine) Carrier of St. Paul; a sister, Lynette (Jim) Viner of La Crosse; four grandchildren, Brooke Viner, Justin Mason, Samantha and Elizabeth Rohling; nieces and nephews, Brian (Jenn) Carrier, Kimberley Carrier, Joseph and Kyle Viner; a sister-in-law, Vicki Carrier; brother-in-law, Al Wagner and his former wife, Cheryl Dahlby Ohms.

He was preceded in death his wife, Marilynn on August 28, 2007; his father; a sister, LeeAnn Wagner; two brothers, Joseph and Lonnie Carrier.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 22 at Our Hope Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Joel Naumann of St. Marks Lutheran Church, Eau Claire officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

AFTERSERVICE:

A funeral service for Lyndon W. Smokey Carrier, 64, of The Villages, Florida, was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 22 at Our Hope Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Joel Naumann of St. Marks Lutheran Church, Eau Claire officiated and music was provided by Lori Maassen. Personal reflections were given by son, Lucas Carrier.

Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were Joseph and Kyle Viner, Bryan Carrier, Justin Mason, Josh Greathouse and Corey Wold.
