Lynnann M. Smith

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynnann M. (Sloan) Smith, 76, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Luxemburg, WI, who passed away at home on Monday, February 24, 2025.

Lynnann was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.

She was born June 25, 1948, in Chippewa Falls to Lynn and Dorothy Ann (O’Connell) Sloan.

On August 25, 1973, she married David Smith at Holy Ghost Church. Over the years, Lynnann worked at Seyforth’s Grocery while in high school. She then attended St Mary’s Nursing School in Rochester. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN as an LPN. The remainder of her career she worked at The Northern Center in Chippewa Falls from where she retired.

Lynnann cherished the time she spent with her grandson, Sean, whom she called her “strawberry-loving grandkid” and whom she shared a special bond. She inspired Sean to share her love of her Irish heritage and to learn about it in-depth. Listening to soft music and reading were favorite past-times of hers.

Lynnann is survived by her daughter-in-law, Tammy Smith of Luxemburg; grandson, Sean David Smith; sisters, Sharon Moucha and Marian (Dan) Park of Cadott, Sue (Ron) Recore and Judi (Rick) Bowe of Chippewa Falls, Rosemary Ewoldt of Marshfield; brother, Pat (Kelly Keneally) of Chippewa Falls; and her long-time friend, Gloria Kulack of Lewistown, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, David Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Robert Moucha and Roger Ewoldt.

A special appreciation and thanks for the Chippewa Manor staff who provided the special care and assistance to both Lynnann and David during their time there.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 5 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum, Chippewa Falls.
