VISITATION:No VisitationSERVICE1:30 p.m., Friday, February 15 at The Chapel of the Resurrection at the Chippewa Manor, 222 Chapman Rd., Chippewa Falls, WI Marcella (Schaefer) Cairns, 94, passedaway on February 9, 2013 in Chippewa Falls.The daughter of John Henry Schaeferand Barbara Anna(Boehmer) Schaefer was born in Melrose,MN on February 13, 1918. Marcellagrew up in Minnesota where she metand married Bruce A. Cairns of Mt.Hope, WI. They were married on December 29, 1941 inGranite Falls, MN.In 1948, she and Bruce moved toWaukegan, IL. For many years Bruce workedfor theNorth Shore Railroad and Marcellawas a stay-at-home mother. Marcellabegan working outside their home in1958, first as a bookkeeper at theBlumberg Furniture Store, then inthe Recorder's Office at the Lake CountyCourt House. Upon retirement she moved to Chippewa Falls.Marcella was preceded in death byher husband Bruce in 1968, sister Mildred, brothers John, Joseph, Clarence, andJerome, half-sisters Gertrude, Mary, Margaret, and Lillian, and half-brothersWilliam, Jeremiah, and Raymond. She is survived by sister DeloresThommes of McMinnville, OR; sons, Robert (Mary Murphy) Cairns of Tucson, AZ,John (Jane Bray) Cairns of Redlands, CA; daughters, Susan (Peter) Holm ofChippewa Falls, Barbara (Jerry) Reif of Mills County, IA; grandchildren, JerryReif, Jr. (Nikki Swope), Michael (Stacey) Reif, Laura Reif (James Pumphrey),Daniel Murphy-Cairns, Moira Murphy-Cairns (Sean McGovern), Emily Cairns, JosephHolm, and Anne Holm (Josh Posthuma); her beloved great-grandchildren, MorganSwope, Lila Reif-Swope, Lily Pumphrey, Elisabeth Pumphrey, Briana Reif, SydneyReif, and twins Edison Posthuma and Maxwell Posthuma; and her very specialfriend, Maureen Therou of Chippewa Falls.A funeral Mass will be held at 1:30p.m., Friday, February 15 at the Chapel of the Resurrection at the ChippewaManor. Fr. Victor Inbaraj, pastor ofHoly Ghost Parish will celebrate the Mass.Burial will be at 1 p.m., Saturday,February 16 at Hermitage Cemetery in Mt. Hope, WI. In lieu of flowers, the familyrequests memorials in Marcella's name to the Franciscan Sistersof Little Falls, MN.
