Mareen L. Roach

Mareen Lee Roach, 84, of Chippewa Falls, WI passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the Lake Hallie Memory Care.

Mareen was born on January 13, 1940 to Gilmore and Marie (Espeseth) Gilbertson in Chippewa Falls, WI. 

She lived her entire life in Chippewa Falls, and was active in the Youth Hockey program during its formative years. Her and her husband, Charlie enjoyed meeting with T friends every Thursday at The Fill Inn for conversation and laughter. 

Mareen had a special place in her backyard where she enjoyed entertaining and drinking coffee. She was best known for her baking - especially Christmas cookies and candy. Mareen also loved to travel; over the years she visited Europe, China, and her ancestral country of Norway. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage and was proficient at making lefse. Above all, Mareen loved her children and grandchildren.

One thing that Mareen and Charlie will be remembered for is the love they shared of fishing, and the many hours they spent together on the water with their lines cast. 

Mareen is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Roach in 2022; her daughter, Lynn Young in 2016; and her son, Mark Bluemn in 2002. 

She is survived by her children, Greg (Myriam) Bluemn of Merrill, WI, and Joe (Desi) Norquist of Bartlett, IL; her sisters, Donna Rousseau of Galesville, WI, Joan Simpson of Ontario, Canada, and Betty Schaub of Chippewa Falls; her grandchildren, Eric Bluemn of Boise, ID, Garrett Bluemn of St. Paul, MN, Tyler Young of Waunakee, WI, Haley Bluemn of Minneapolis, MN, Jeremy Norquist, Samantha Norquist, and Justin Norquist of Bartlett, IL, Jacob Bluemn, Mark "Tony" Bluemn, and Angela Bluemn of Rock Springs, WY, Lindsey (John) Etherington of Provo, Utah; along with many other family members, friends and loved ones. 

A Funeral Service for Mareen will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Central Lutheran Church, with. Rev. Aaron Sturgis officiating. A visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Mareen will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls, WI.
