Marie E. Breunig, 84, of Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
She was born September 9, 1927 in Bloomer to Della (Gunderman) and Albert Meisner. She was raised in Bloomer and graduated from Bloomer High School in 1944.
Marie married Ralph S. Breunig on August 8, 1946 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Bloomer. The couple resided in Bloomer until moving to Eau Claire. They then moved to the town of Anson on Lake Wissota in 1955 and she worked for Halbleib Accounting. She and Ralph purchased the Pine Lake Apartments in the town of Eagle Point in 1971. Following their retirement, they enjoyed many winters together in College Station, Texas. She and Ralph enjoyed travelling and took many wonderful trips together.
Marie was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in the town of Tilden. She was committed to her faith and was proud to be a part of the lay Franciscans through St. Joseph's Hospital. In addition to her church, her devotion to her family was also evident. Family time was very important to her and she cherished time spent with them.
Survivors include: three daughters, Jennifer "Jenny" (Ron) Gullicksrud of Eau Claire, Jocelyn "Joce" (Steven) Decker of Chippewa Falls, Nancy (Curtis) Schultz of Humble, Texas; two sons, James "Jim" Breunig of Phoenix, Arizona, Jeffrey "Jeff" (Pam) Breunig of Chippewa Falls; a brother, Herbert (Margaret) Meisner of Winter, Wis.; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Ralph on November 18, 2010; and a brother, Delbert Meisner.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 28 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Tilden with The Very Rev. Ed Shuttleworth and Fr. Frank Corradi, concelebrating the mass. Interment will be in North Catholic Cemetery, Bloomer.
Friends may call from 4-6 p.m., Friday, January 27 and until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. During the visitation Friday evening at the funeral chapel, a Christian Vigil service will be held at 6 p.m. and will be led by Fr. Frank Corradi, Director of Spiritual Care at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Memorials in Marie's honor may be directed to St. Joseph's Hospice.

A funeral Mass for Marie E. Breunig, 84, of Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point,was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 28 at St. Peter's Catholic Church inTilden. The Very Rev. Ed Shuttleworth and Fr. Frank Corradi concelebrated the Mass, assisted by Deacon Dan Rider, and music was provided by organist, Bobbi Geissler and the St. Peter's Funeral Choir. Marie's son, Jim Breunig shared personal reflections and a reading was given by daughter, Nancy Schultz. Those serving as giftbearers were Marie's sons, Jeff and Jim Breunig.
Interment was in North Catholic Cemetery, Bloomer and pallbearers included Marie's grandchildren, Jessica Breunig, Bill Green, Erica Breunig, Ann Schlag and Kristin Deavers, and great-grandson, Kyle Green.
During the visitation Friday evening at the funeral chapel, a Christian Vigil servicewas led by Deacon Dan Rider.
