Marilyn L. Brenner, 84, of Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 and went to Heaven to be with her husband Jack for what would have been their 66th wedding anniversary on June 25. She was surrounded by her family and under the care of the Visiting Angels and St. Josephs Hospice.

She was born February 14, 1929 in South Sacred Heart Township, MN to Aleen H. (Thorstenson) and Elmer O. Danielson.

Marilyn married John Jack Brenner on June 25, 1947 in South Sacred Heart Township, MN. They moved to Chippewa Falls in 1981 where they had resided since that time. Jack preceded her in death on February 16, 2009.

She was a member of First Congregational UCC, Eau Claire.

Marilyn had a special love for kitties. Her Sam was by her side always and her companion to the end. She also loved nature and all wildlife. Her backyard was a haven for birds, squirrels and other wildlife.

Survivors include two daughters, Claudia Joy (Dale) Barron of Delano, MN, Linda Kay (Gary) Neve of Cologne, MN; five grandchildren, Matthew (Terri) Barron of Buffalo, MN, Angela (Bob) Holm of Maple Grove, MN, Thomas (Lisa) Barron of Mayer, MN, Luke (Jenni) Neve of Chaska, MN, Marie (Chris) Friesen of Chaska, MN; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Aiden and Alex Barron, Lily Holm, Carson and Grace Barron and one great-grandson, Baby Neve, due in September; and her cat, Sam.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack.

A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m., Sunday, June 30 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Elder Mary Barnes officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m., Monday, July 1 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery (Assembly Area 1) in Minneapolis, MN.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.

AFTERSERVICE:

A funeral service for Marilyn L. Brenner, 84, of Chippewa Falls, was held at 5 p.m., Sunday, June 30 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Mary Barnes, Director of Elderlife at First Congregational UCC in Eau Claire, officiated and special music was provided by granddaughters, Terri Barron, Marie Friesen and friend, Jayne Woodburn. Grandchildren, Marie Friesen, Tom and Matt Barron shared scripture; son-in-law, Dale Barron delivered the eulogy; and several friends shared memories.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis and casket bearers included grandsons, Matthew Barron, Thomas Barron, Luke Neve and Chris Friesen.
