Marjorie M. Hagberg, 69, of Chippewa Falls died suddenly and unexpectedly Monday, May 13, 2013 at her home.
She was born October 7, 1943 in Colfax to Muriel (Zingshiem) and LaVerne Hovland. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1961.
On November 21, 1963, she married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Jack Hagberg in Stillwater, MN. They resided in Colfax until moving to Chippewa Falls in 1974, and Marjorie raised their four children and made their home.
Over the years, Marjorie became like a second mother to many children. She enjoyed making meals for others and will be remembered for her great cooking. Marjories favorite pastimes were knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading, and she enjoyed her flower gardens. She cherished time with her family and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Jack of Chippewa Falls; children, Sandy (Greg) Mattson of Superior, Ken (Peggy) Hagberg of Fall Creek, Bob (Stacey) Hagberg of Elk Mound, Jerry (Tasha) Hagberg of Spooner; ten grandchildren, Shaun and Nicole Mattson, Connor, Samantha and Leo Hagberg, Alexandra and Corey Hagberg, Lucas, Billy and Maddie Hagberg; siblings, LaVerne Hovland of Ohio, Jim (Linda) Hovland of Illinois, Michael Hovland of Maryland, Dick (Janet) Hovland of Colfax, Tom (Christie) Hovland of Indiana, Sue Swisher of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Chuck and Bob Hovland; and a sister, Barbara Holmes.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 16 at Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls with Intern Pastor Aaron Sturgis officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Colfax.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m., Thursday at the church.
AFTERSERVICE:
A funeral service for Marjorie M. Hagberg, 69, of Chippewa Falls, was held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 16 at Central Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls. Intern Pastor Aaron Sturgis officiated and music was provided by organist Christine Hitt and vocalist Jordan Engel. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Colfax. Casket bearers were Ken, Bob, Jerry, Greg, Connor, Lucas and Corey Hagberg and Shaun Mattson.
