Marjorie Alice Zimbelman, 90, of 13769 47th Ave., Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.

She was born September 17, 1921 in Baldwin the daughter of Mamie (Hovde) and Donald G. Reid. She was raised in the Woodville area and graduated from Woodville High School. She then attended UW River Falls and received a BA Degree in Elementary Education from UW Eau Claire.

Marge married Edwin Chester Zimbelman on February 29, 1944 in Menomonie. She then taught in the Colfax School District for three years. They then resided in the Chippewa Falls area and she was employed at the Chippewa Falls School District as an elementary teacher for 27 years at Ninth Ward and Halmstad Elementary Schools, retiring in 1983.

She loved Sunday get-togethers which were spent with relatives with food, memories and fun. She also loved baking, traveling to visit family, caring for others and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her retirement years she enjoyed her time in TTT, the YMCA, her card clubs and enjoyed mentoring at Hillcrest Elementary.

Survivors include: her husband, Ed; one daughter, Jill (Thomas) Schaefer, Plover; one son, Gary Zimbelman, Chippewa Falls; six grandchildren, Rick (Lisa) Zimbelman, Melissa (Tim) Turbett, Aaron (Tricia) Zimbelman, Nicholas (Bri) Haley, Justin (Jenny) Haley, Michael Bergman; ten great-grandchildren, Paxton and Elin Haley, Ethan, Nicole, Natalie, Evan, Nora and Mason Zimbelman, Trelan and Micha Turbett; also survived by many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorothy Cook; three brothers, Wayne "Bud" Reid, Calvin Reid and Stanley Ried.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 22at Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Terri Koca officiating. Interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.

A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 21 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Marjorie Alice Zimbelman, 90, Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 22 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Terri Koca officiated and music was provided by Judy Brist.

Interment was in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie. Casket bearers were: Nicholas and Justin Haley, Ethan, Aaron and Rick Zimbelman, Michael Bergman and Tim Turbett.
