Mark Erickson

Mark D. Erickson, 49, born Novemeber 4, 1961, died Friday, July 15, 2011 at Luther Hospital.

Mark grew up in Eau Claire and LaCrosse, graduating from LaCrosse High School in 1980. He continued his education at UW-LaCrosse, earning a bachelors degree in engineering and enjoyed many years of employement with Cray Research. He later spent time with SGI and Cray Inc.

He married Debbra LeDuc on September 7, 1991 in Chippewa Falls, where the couple made their home raising three children. Time spent teaching the family to appreciate sports of any kind was Mark's greatest joy. He treasured family summer getaways up North and just hanging around his home on the weekends with family and friends.

This kind and loving man will be dearly missed by many. Mark will be remembered most for his compassion and giving heart, that was clearly demonstrated in his home, on the basketball court, soccer field, and football sidelines.

Survivors include his wife, Deb of Chippewa Falls; daughter, Bailey Hanson of Minneapolis, MN; two sons, Tyler and Henry, both of Chippewa Falls; a grandson, Sean Hanson-Brown; his parents, Jackie Erickson of Eau Claire; father Larry Erickson of Eau Claire; sister, Beth (Tim) Pluth of Eau Claire; mother and father-in-law, Duane and BettyAnn LeDuc; brothers-in-law, Mike (Chrissy) LeDuc and J.R. (Jen) LeDuc, all of Chippewa Falls; and several nieces, nephews, and many special relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Greg and Stanford Erickson, maternal and paternal grandparents, and aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held 9 to 11 a.m. with funeral service at 11 a.m., Monday, July 18 at the Bandshell in Irvine Park, Chippewa Falls with Pastor Jim Woldhuis officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Boyd.

Afterservice

A funeral service for Mark D. Erickson, 49, of Chippewa Falls, was held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Irvine Park Band Shell in Chippewa Falls. Pastor Jim Woldhuis of Chippewa Valley Bible officiated and music was provided by soloist, Teri Tompkins and guitarist, John Eystad. A reading was given by Jackie Cody and Mark's wife, Deb shared personal reflections.

Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Boyd. Casket bearers were: Mike LeDuc, JR LeDuc, Gene Cody, Jason Hiess, Tom Davis, Dave Flanagan, Kevin Geissler, Dan Faschingbauer and Nate LeBarron.
