Mark T. Schwendinger, 47, of Eau Claire, passed away July 17, 2017, from a fishing accident.

He was born September 2, 1969, in Dubuque, Iowa to Ronald and Marcella (Manders) Schwendinger. He resided in Dubuque and other parts of Iowa and South Dakota, until moving to Eau Claire in 2000.

In 2002 he married Beth Anderson at Lake Eau Claire. He worked as a Medical Dosimetrist in the radiation oncology department at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

In his spare time Mark enjoyed being outdoors. Ice-fishing was his passion and he loved goose hunting, lifting weights with his daughter Madison, playing PIG in the driveway with his daughter Mackenzie, and finding a way to gently push people's buttons. He was a proud supporter of his daughter's softball teams and was known as "the guy with no shirt on" at their tournaments.

Mark is survived by his wife, Beth; daughters, Madison and Mackenzie; parents, Ron and Marcy Schwendinger of Bernard, Iowa; brother, Jeff (Karen) Schwendinger of Granger, Iowa; sister, Jen Schwendinger of Solon, Iowa; father-in-law, Phillip Anderson of Sioux City, Iowa; Jessica and Megan Tish; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his uncle and godfather, Tom Schwendinger; and mother-in-law, Linda Anderson.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred and will be used to help establish and promote river and water safety awareness in Mark's honor.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 20 at Jacob's Well Church, 3211 N 50th Ave, Village of Lake Hallie with Rev. Paul Berthiaume officiating. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. at the church.
