Marshall W. Anderson, 84, of Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire.
He was born May 26, 1930 in Elk Mound to Mabel (Nelson) and Walfred Anderson. He was raised in Elk Mound and attended school in Chippewa Falls. He served honorably in the US Air Force from 1951-1955.
Marshall married Gloria Johnson on July 1, 1948 in Chippewa Falls.
He was employed at the Northern Center from 1955 until retiring on July 8, 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria of Chippewa Falls; five children, Linda (Roger) Woodford of Fall Creek, Gordon (Jeannie) Anderson of Chippewa Falls; Christine (Steven) Writz of Elk Mound, Julie Anderson, Karen Gilbertson both of Richland Center; two grandchildren, Benjamin (April) Anderson, Andrew Bohl; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Elizabeth and Sophie Anderson; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David in infancy; and two sisters, Esther Pederson and Virginia Anderson, in infancy.
Marshall enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cribbage, spending time with his family and friends; and he cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 6 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Robert Hoekstra officiating. Interment with military honors conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council will follow at Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral chapel.
AFTERSERVICE
A funeral service for Marshall W. Anderson was held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 6 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Robert Hoekstra officiated at the service. Interment with military honors conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council was in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie and Taps were bugled by John Francis. Casket bearers were Gordon and Benjamin Anderson, Steve Writz, Luke Steffen, David LeDuc and Scott Gehler.
