Mary Sharp

Mary E. Sharp, 76, of the town of Lafayette, Chippewa Falls, died Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Chippewa Manor surrounded by family and under the care of Mayo Clinic Home Health and Hospice.

She was born January 16, 1941, in Eau Claire to Axel and Alice (Phillips) Hanson. She grew up in Lake Hallie and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School.

Mary married Elmer W. Sharp in 1964 at Hallie United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and took care of their children until they started school. She then worked part time at various businesses including Kmart and Prange Way.

Mary loved spending time with her family and was very active in her church. She taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, and helped prepare funeral lunches for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer; daughter, Susan (Neal) Ziller of New Richmond, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Rachael, Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, Joshua, Elizabeth, Joseph, Clare, and Caleb Ziller all of New Richmond; two great-grandchildren, Lincoln Hall and Alayah Hartman; sisters, Bernadine Gilles of Peyson, Ariz. and Frances Arnould of Eau Claire; brother, Wayne (Nona) Hanson of Eau Claire; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jason; brother, Bill (Helen) Hanson; and brother-in-law, Bernard Gilles.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 15 at Hallie United Methodist Church, 12146 22nd Ave., Chippewa Falls with Rev. Don Drollinger officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at church. Interment will be at Prairie View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
