Mavis M. Arnevik, 83, of Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Wissota Health in Chippewa Falls.

She was born April 7, 1931 in Bloomer to Esther (Cook) and Fred Prill.

On June 15, 1956, she married Hartvik G. Arnevik in Bloomer. They resided in Colfax until moving to Chippewa Falls in 1960, where Mavis raised their children and made their home. Hartvik preceded her in death on February 15, 1984.

Mavis was a devoted member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls.

Mavis loved to dance, especially the waltz and polka. Although her arthritis inhibited her physically, she was strong-willed and independent. She didn't let the pain get in the way of playing with her grandchildren, or decorating for her favorite season, Christmas. She loved spending time with her family whether it was traveling, reunions, or holidays. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her son, Kevin Arnevik; daughter, Shelly Miller; grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Doty, Christopher (Jenny) Davis, Arik and Alyssa Arnevik; great-grandchildren, Xavier and Mackenzie Doty, Cadence and Lydia Davis, all of Chippewa Falls; sisters, Marliss (Larry) Schmitz of Loves Park, IL, Burdean (James) Gilbert of Chippewa Falls; and a brother-in-law, Ken (Judy) Arnevik of Chippewa Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Arvella Hurt, Amy Rovero, Betty Belling; and three brothers, Sheldon "Fish", Dwayne "Bush", and Clayton "Squirmer" Prill.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 25 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Dr. Barry Boyer officiating.

Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service Tuesday at the church.

Memorials in Mavis' honor may go to the Arthritis Foundation.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Mavis M. Arnevik, 83, of Chippewa Falls, was held at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 25 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Dr. Barry Boyer officiated and music was provided by organist, Barbara Sandford and vocalist, Jenny Davis. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were Christopher Davis, Arik Arnevik, Jason Doty, Paul Nadreau, David and Kenneth Prill.
