Michael D. Royce, 19, of Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at his residence.
He was born January 4, 1995 in Lansing, MI to Laurie A. (Bongiovanni) and Bryan C.Royce. He was raised in Chippewa Falls and attended Halmstad Elementary, Chippewa Falls Middle School and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 2013. He was planning to attend Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire.
He was employed at Gordys County Market, Lake Wissota.
Michael was kind, sensitive and compassionate. He loved music, playing chess and reading, especially history. He took guitar, banjo and karate lessons. He loved going to movies, loved animals, especially his cats. He enjoyed eating out and spending time with his mother and his best friend Alex.
Survivors include his mother, Laurie of Chippewa Falls, sister, Rachel Royce of Chippewa Falls; maternal grandparents, John and Darlene Bongiovanni of Panama City, Florida; paternal grandparents, Lyle and Sandra Royce of Wausau, paternal grandparents, Karen and Mark Mueller of Spooner; aunt, Susan (Randy) Ballard of Folsom, CA; his best friend, Alex Beighley; his Big Brothers and Mentors, Jeremy Wendtland and Rick Pribnow; also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bryan on June 20, 2006; an uncle, David Royce and his dog and long-time companion, Buster.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 28 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Pastor Chris Whetstone of Jacobs Well officiating. Interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of the service Monday at the funeral chapel.
AFTERSERVICE
A funeral service for Michael D. Royce, 19, of Chippewa Falls was held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 28 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Pastor Chris Whetstone of Jacobs Well officiated and personal reflections were shared by Michaels mother, Laurie, several family members and friends as well as several representatives from Chippewa Falls High School. Interment followed at Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie. Casket bearers were Curt Clausing, Rick Pribnow, Jeremy Wendtland and Randy Ballard.
