Mildred L. Hunt, Chippewa Falls, died Friday, May 17, 2013, of heart failure at Mayo Clinic Health Systems Eau Claire. She was 90 years old.

She was born to William F. and Bertha May (Moon) Hunt in Bloomer, Wisconsin, on August 31, 1922.

She married Vern Allen Hunt on June 16, 1944, in Bloomer. They had 58 years together.

Mildred worked at the Chippewa Shoe Factory, Charlie's Pizza Parlor, and Roehrich's Woolen Shop doing custom sewing. She loved sewing for the family, especially her grandchildren. After her marriage, she worked at a garment factory in Florida while her husband served in the military.

She was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church, its Women's Society, the altar guild and choir in earlier years.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Lewis of Rocky River, Ohio, and Judith (Stuart) Spangler of Sparta; one son, Samuel (Beth) Hunt of Chippewa Falls; six grandchildren, Michael (Dawn) Klukas, Richard (Becky) Klukas, Kristen Banasik, Patricia Lewis, Ryan (Kelly) Hunt, and Traci (Dave) Wilhelmi; and 11 great-grandchildren, Jodie and Jesse Klukas, Chloe Alt, Jordan and Jared Weibel, Jenna Klukas, Shianne and Harleigh Hunt, Mykah and Afton Wilhelmi, and Declan Robertson; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Vern, on August 4, 2002; two brothers, William D. and Marvin L. Hunt; three sisters, Elizabeth McGraw, Gladys Koch, Alvera Gartmann-Igl; son-in-law, David Lewis; and a great-grandson, Wyatt Hunt.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 23 at Zion Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. T. Clint Stark officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, May 22 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

AFTERSERVICE:

A funeral service for Mildred L. Hunt, 90, of Chippewa Falls, was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 23 at Zion Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. The Rev. T. Clinton Stark officiated and music was provided by Marilyn Brace. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were Roger Kressin, David and Jim Gartmann, John Gerber, Dale McGraw and Rick Klukas.
