Mildred E. Williams, 89, of Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, died peacefully Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center, listening to her favorite polka music on WCFW with her children holding her hands until releasing her into the Lords hands.

She was born to Edward and Daisy (Herrick) Frase on August 20, 1927, in Eau Claire, WI.On August 11, 1950, she married Robert Williams at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.

Millie grew up on the farm and went to Lowes Creek School then graduated from Eau Claire High School. She then went to Menomonie, graduated from Stout Institute in 1948 and became a Home Economics teacher. Millie first taught in Cornell, then Chippewa Falls Junior High, and finally in Cadott High School.

Millie was an active, long time member of the English Lutheran Church of Bateman where she was the Superintendent of Sunday School for many years and member of the church council. Millie was also a member of the Quilters and was actively involved making School Kits for kids in Malawi. Millie and Bob enjoyed traveling the US, which included a trip to Alaska and Bob's annual Navy reunions. They also loved trips to the cabin with their grandkids and occasional trips to the casino. When Millie wasn't volunteering her time at English Lutheran, with her grand kids, or traveling with Bob, you could find her at home doing a variety of crafts including sewing, knitting, baking or cooking for her family.

Millie is survived by her daughter, Barb Williams; son, Gerald Williams, both of Chippewa Falls; brother, Donald Frase of Eau Claire; sister-in-law, Delores Frase of Eau Claire; brother-in-law, Bill (Carol) Williams of Somerset; grandchildren, Nathan Hanson of Duluth and Joylyn Hanson of Eau Claire; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; brother, Homer Frase; sister-in-law, Lorraine Williams; and brother-in-law, Donald Williams.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.,Monday, May 15, at the English Lutheran Church of Bateman with Rev. Barry Boyer officiating.Interment will be held at a later date at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner next to Bob. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the English Lutheran Church of Bateman, Luther Park or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Wissota Health and St. Joseph's Hospice for all their loving care given to Millie.
