Myron Edward "Pete/Bud" Sabin , 89, formerly of 205 W. Greenville St., Chippewa Falls died early Saturday morning at Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls.

He was born on September 3, 1921 in Lake Helen, Florida the son of Frances (Keuhn) and James Sabin. He moved to Eau Claire with his family when he was a child. He graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1939 and went to work at Presto Industries just shortly before he went into the Army/Air Force during WWII. He was in the Eighth Air Force, 92nd Bombardment group and a pilot of B-17's. His service rank was Lieutenant. He was wounded in action when his plane was shot down over France on a bombing mission to Germany. When he returned home he married Alicia Mandelert on June 13, 1951 in Stillwater, Minn. and moved to Chippewa Falls. Shortly after that he began working for the Chippewa Falls Post Office as a rural letter carrier, a job he held until retirement in 1985.

Pete loved gardening, fishing and his motor scooter. He belonged to the American Legion Post 77 for 45 continuous years.
