Natalie Jayne Schroeder, age 76, of Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, passed away at home surrounded by family on Saturday, October 10, 2020.
She was born April 22, 1944 in Willow Lake, South Dakota to Thelma (Poppen) and Alva Edelman. Her father died when she was just six months old. Her mother eventually remarried to Maynold Peterson, who helped raise Natalie. She graduated from Huron High School.
On May 8, 1961, she married her high school sweetheart, Marvin Schroeder and they have been together for over 60 years. They lived in Minnesota, California, Florida and finally settled in Chippewa Falls.
Natalie worked in the public schools where she was secretary to the principal. She was very involved in helping the school children and always encouraged them to read. When she and Marv moved to Chippewa Falls 20 years ago, they bought and remodeled a home on Lake Wissota. Natalie loved sitting on her deck overlooking the lake. She loved reading, so it was fitting that she got a part-time job at Border’s Bookstore in Eau Claire.
She is survived by her husband, Marv of Chippewa Falls; sons, Mark (Joan) of Rosemount, MN and Eric of Menomonie, WI; daughter, Robin (Greg) Fischer of Brainerd, MN; sisters, Beverly Erdahl and Pam Charbonneau; grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alva Edelman; mother, Thelma Edelman Peterson; stepfather, Maynold Peterson; brother, Allen; and her son, Jim in 2015.
Arrangements are pending.
