Neal Robinson

Neal W. Robinson, 90, of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Azura Memory Care in Stoughton, WI.

He was born September 12, 1927, in St. Croix Falls, WI to John and Minnie (Fruehling) Robinson. He graduated from St. Croix Falls High School and spent a semester in the Merchant Marines.

On September 18, 1948, he married Deloris J. Andersen at Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Croix Falls. They continued to live there and raise their five children until 1962, when they moved to Chippewa Falls.

Neal was employed by Northern States Power (now Xcel Energy) in St. Croix Falls, Lake Wissota, and Eau Claire until retiring in 1982. After retirement Neal and Deloris started wintering in the south, spending many winters at Texas Trails Resort, where they volunteered in many social activities and taught dance lessons.

Neal is survived by his five children, Donita (Cliff) O’Donnell of Middleton, WI, Dara (Charles) Harings of Chippewa Falls, Dean Robinson of Savannah, GA, Deneal (Hector) Perez of Racine, WI, and Tammy (Eugene) Tambornino of Chippewa Falls; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Donald (Barb) Robinson and Wayne (Diane) Robinson; sister-in-law, Ruby Eibs; brother-in-law, Chester Andersen; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Deloris in 2005; brother, John Robinson; and two grandsons, Christian Harings and Chad Tambornino.

Neal is returning to the dance floor, asking his wife of 57 years, “Could I have this dance for the rest of my life?”

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 30 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Aaron Sturgis officiating. Interment will be at Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
