Nina J. Buss-Martinek, 93, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.

She was born September 7, 1918 to Jenny (Harper) and Edwin Ramberg at Lover's Lane Dairy Farm in Clark County. She grew up in Clark County on her family's farm and graduated from Thorp High School.

Nina married Robert O. Buss in 1937 and together had one son. The couple later divorced. She then married Emil Martinek, who preceded her in death.

She moved to the Twin Cities and worked as a nurses aide for many years. She then returned to Chippewa Falls and continued working as a nursing assistant at the County Hospital, retiring from there at age 62.

In her retirement, Nina enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She made many displays and quilts for her family and friends. She also loved to travel and toured 47 states and much of Canada. She took many trips to Branson, Missouri and had fun going to casinos. She also enjoyed camping during the summers at her place on the Namekagon River.

She was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls.

Survivors include her son, Robert (Mary Jo) Buss of Chippewa Falls; three grandchildren, Tammy (Bob) Rifleman of Mankato, MN, John and Jeff Buss, both of Chippewa Falls; great-grandchildren, Josh (Janessa) Griffith, Ashley Buss, Danica (Stefan) Olson, Bayleigh and Jake Buss; three great-great-grandchildren, Aiden, Holden and Ashton; and longtime friend, Edgar Riley of Chippewa Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorothy Mattes; a brother, Donald Ramberg; her former husband, Robert Buss; and her husband, Emil Martinek.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 23 at Faith Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. William Plautz officiating. Burial will be in Brooklawn Cemetery, Cadott.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Contributions in Nina's memory are appreciated and may be designated to Faith Lutheran Church or to Christ Lutheran Church, both in Chippewa Falls.

AFTERSERVICE:

A funeral service for Nina J. Buss-Martinek, 93, of Chippewa Falls,was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 23 at Faith Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. William Plautz officiated and music was provided by organist, Lois Raether. Burial was in Brooklawn Cemetery, Cadott and pallbearers included grandsons, John and Jeff Buss; great-grandson, Josh Griffith;nephews, Mark and Scott Ramberg, and Lee Meinholdt.
