Patricia McClelland

Patricia J. “Pat” McClelland, 81, of Cornell, formerly of Madison, died Friday, December 11, 2020 at Cornell Health Services.

She was born March 6, 1939 in Verona, WI to Ruth (Henning) and Joseph Theisen.  She grew up in Sauk City, WI and graduated from Sauk Prairie High School, class of 1956.

Pat was married to Theodore (Ted) McClelland in 1958. They had two children, Cheryl and Steve, before they were divorced in 1976.

Pat worked as a nursing assistant at Meriter Hospital in Madison for 26 years. After she retired, she worked as a crossing guard for the Sun Prairie school district. She loved interacting with the kids on their way to and from school each day.

While living in Madison, Pat enjoyed volunteering for the Salvation Army. She was very passionate about their mission and was recognized as a golden ringer for volunteering to ring bells more than 10 times during several holiday seasons.

In 2017, she moved to this area to be near family.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Thomas) Keegan of Chippewa Falls; brother, Nick (Anne) Theisen, Ft. Mill, SC, sister, Lois Schroeder, Madison, WI, grandchildren, Kyle Keegan, Kelsey (Cory) Layman, Kendall Keegan, Nieces and Nephews

She is preceded in death by her son Steve McClelland and parents, Joe and Ruth Theisen.

As per Pat’s request, no services will be held.  A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Memorials in Pat’s name may go to the Salvation Army Dane County, 3030 Darbo Drive, Madison, WI 53704.
