Patricia Sample

Patricia "Patti" Jean Murphy Sample, 70, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Newton Falls, Ohio, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 1, 2011 while under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.

She was born February 22, 1941 in Chippewa Falls to Delores "Pat" Connell and John Murphy.

Patti married Richard "Dick" Sample on July 7, 1962 in Newton Falls, Ohio. The couple resided in Newton Falls, where Patti worked as a bartender at the VFW for many years. Following her husband's death in 2008, Patti moved to Chippewa Falls to be near her family.

She was an avid fan of the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and the Cleveland Indians. She enjoyed doing puzzles and loved to spend time with her nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include eight siblings, Kay Murphy, John "Buck" (Kathy) Murphy, Mike (Connie) Murphy, Denny (Roxy) Murphy, Jerry Murphy, Tim (Debbie) Murphy, all of Chippewa Falls, Colleen (John) Hrdlicka of Jim Falls, Kara (Brian) Heidtke of Chippewa Falls; sister-in-law, Nancy Chicko, brother-in-law, Lee Sample, both of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters; two sons; a sister-in-law, Kathy Murphy; and her husband, Richard on October 27, 2008.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, December 5 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Fr. Justin Kizewski of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, December 7 in Newton Township Cemetery, Trumbull County, Ohio.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Monday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel.
