Paul F. Lubs, 60, of 12256 73rd Ave., Chippewa Falls, town of Tilden, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the family cabin in Clam Lake, WI.
He was born November 30, 1951 in Chippewa Falls, the son of Lyman and Mary Louise (Ritzinger) Lubs.
Paul attended Notre Dame Grade School and graduated from McDonnell High School in 1969.
He married JoAnne Jennings on January 20, 1971 and they were later divorced. He then remarried Chris (Geissler) McCombs on October 12, 2002.
Paul was currently working at the Menards Distribution Center in Eau Claire.
Paul is survived by his wife, Chris; son, Jason (Dara); two beautiful grandchildren, Kenny and Jemma Lubs, all of Chippewa Falls; stepsons, Peter (Erin) McCombs of Oregon, WI, Ryan (Kristi) of Janesville; six super grandchildren, Caitlin, Colin, Mara, Brennan, Carter and Kyra; a brother, John A. Lubs of Chippewa Falls; two sisters, Joan Lubs Weimert of Chippewa Falls, and Linda Lubs of Sedona, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth P. Lubs; his parents; grandparents; aunts, uncles, one great nephew; and a very special sister-in-law, Jane Mason Lubs.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 6 p.m., Thursday, July 12 with a memorial service at 6 p.m., all at the band shell in Irvine Park, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Robert Hoekstra officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Paul's honor are appreciated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 13195 West Hampton Ave., Butler, WI 53007.
Paul and Chris spent many weekends at the Clam Lake cabin with family and friends. It was a favorite place to go. Sitting around the campfire was a must at the cabin. Great memories were made and shared over the years. Paul liked going deer hunting, but the deer were always safe. He loved watching and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and was a proud shareholder. Paul spent a lot of grand parenting time with his 8 grandchildren. He loved them all dearly.
AFTERSERVICE
A celebration of life for Paul F. Lubs, 60, Chippewa Falls, town of Tilden, was held at 6 p.m., Thursday, July 12 at the Irvine Park Band Shell in Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Robert Hoekstra officiated and music was provided by organist, Judy Brist and vocalist, Amy Bauman. Mark Martineau shared personal reflections of Paul.
