Paul H. Rieper, 74, of Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Chippewa Falls.

He was born March 1, 1941 in Crandon, WI to Nola (Strauch) and Ernest Rieper. He grew up in Cumberland.

Paul served honorably in the US Army from March 5, 1959 until May 7, 1962.

In 1958, he married Barbara Baumberger and together they had six children. They later divorced.

Paul lived in Rice Lake where he owned and operated a construction business for many years. He later worked in sales; and finally in maintenance, retiring as the maintenance supervisor at The Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac.

Following his retirement in 2005, he moved to Chippewa Falls. He continued to build, fix and repair anything and everything for friends and family members. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, gardening, and watching and feeding the birds. He cherished his family and had a way to make each one feel very special. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include four daughters, Kimberly Mussa of Madison, Tammie Moe of Fond du Lac, Lisa Rieper of Eau Claire, Julie Rieper of Chippewa Falls; two sons, Mark (Lisa) of Birchwood, Brian (Michelle) of Chippewa Falls; his mother, Nola Herger of Eau Claire; a sister, Joyce Green of Rice Lake; five brothers, John (Pat) of Cumberland, Kerry of Barron, Fred of Chippewa Falls, Al of Minnesota, Ron (Marsha) of Iowa; ten grandchildren, Becki Mussa, Joshua Moe, Hollie (Andy Johnson) Moe, Stephen Gargulak, Melissa Gargulak, Austin Knapp, Clarissa Rieper, Ryan Roppe, Janelle Rieper, Alyssa (Adam) Thoms; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Gargulak, Nola Acosta, Allison Roppe, Harvey Moe-Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Christine Hergert; and a son-in-law, Michael Moe.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Wednesday, April 29 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls followed by burial with military honors at 1:30 p.m. at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
