Phyllis L. Steinke, 78, of Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Dove Health West in Eau Claire.

She was born February 17, 1935 in the town of Red Cedar, Dunn County to Eva (Vehrs) and Bertram Strehlau. She was raised in the town of Red Cedar and graduated from Colfax High School in 1953.

Phyllis married LaVern Steinke on April 28, 1956 at St. Katherines Lutheran Church in Menomonie.

She was employed at Mason Shoe Company for 24 years in the receiving department.

Survivors include four children, Deborah Falch of Eau Claire, Darlene (Mike) Champeau of Owatonna, MN, Michael (Geri) Steinke of Chippewa Falls, Patricia ( Dave Grensing) Steinke of Chippewa Falls; seven granddaughters, Lisa (Dave) Mihm of Eau Claire, Kelly (Jimmy) Harbal, Stacy Champeau all of Owatonna, MN, Krista and Kayla Williams of Eau Claire, Nicole and Ashley Steinke of Chippewa Falls; four great-grandchildren, Bevin, Adria and Emery Mihm, Korben Harbal; two brothers, Ervin (Bernadine) Strehlau of Menomonie, Gordon (Sharon) Strehlau of Eau Claire; a sister-in-law, Mary Strehlau of Elk Mound and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband LaVern on April 28, 2010; a brother, Arnold Strehlau and a sister, Virginia Philen.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 12 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Mike Wollman officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Phyllis L. Steinke, 78, of Chippewa Falls was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 12 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Mike Wollman officiated and music was provided by Christine Hitt. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire. Casket bearers were Duane Patridge, Dean, Dan, Butch and Nathan Strehlau.
