Erna Rath, 101, of Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the Rutledge Home, Chippewa Falls under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.

She was born November 24, 1913, to Jacob and Helena (Priester) Rath on a farm southwest of Martin, North Dakota.

Erna moved to St. Paul, Minnesota in 1941, and worked at Ancker Hospital for a year and a half, then at 3M for two years and then was employed at Champion-Horner-Waldorf Paper Company for 32 years, retiring in 1976. She was involved in volunteer work with the White Cross Cancer Pads for hospitals and Fair Share.

She was a member of Park Baptist Church for 45 years. She was on the Deacon's Board and also in charge of the children's nursery for 27 years. She belonged to the 75 Club, Papermate Club, was a member of Union Gospel Mission and United Leisure Age Center.

Erna moved to Chippewa Falls in 2002. She has resided at the Rutledge Home since 2011. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Chippewa Falls.

Erna is survived by her daughter, Jan Rath of Chippewa Falls; sisters-in-law, Hertha Rath of Hazen, North Dakota, Frieda Rath of Apple Valley, Minnesota; and nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Helena (Priester) Rath; son, John A. Rath; daughter-in-law, Audrey (Masters) Rath; three brothers, Richard Rath, Edgar Rath, and Ted Rath; and three sisters, Frieda Rath, Emily Gilbert and Lenora Brisse.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Karel Hanhart officiating. Interment will at Ebenezer Cemetery, Anamoose, North Dakota.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
