Joanne Ray, 59, of Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

She was born September 6, 1954 in Chippewa Falls to Joanne (Visser) and Robert Hoover. She was raised in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1972.

On April 15, 1977 Joanne married John Ray in Chippewa Falls. They resided in the town of Eagle Point, where Joanne worked for the past 30 years at Klinger's Farm Market.

Joanne's favorite pastimes were reading and knitting. She knitted many items and would sell them at craft sales. She also enjoyed shore fishing in Rice Lake.

She and her husband John loved to visit Bayfield, WI. Every year, they looked forward to the second week in September where they stayed at the same place in the same room that had a balcony overlooking Seagull Bay.

Survivors include her husband, John; a daughter, Dr. Julie (Pablo) Ray-Santana of El Cope, Panama; a son, Jerry (Becky) Ray of Westby; her father, Robert Hoover of Chippewa Falls; three grandchildren, Leslie Santana, Jack and Samantha Ray.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 25 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Robert Hoekstra officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral chapel.
