Renee Jean Riley, 52, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System Eau Claire.
She was born May 24, 1961 in Chippewa Falls to Jeanette (Buchli) and Morris Riley. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1981.
Following high school, Renee moved to Minneapolis, MN, where she attended the Courage Center and learned to live independently. She moved back to Eau Claire in 2001, where she lived at St. Johns Apartments and worked in the office at Community Health Partnership until its closing.
Renee enjoyed being a member of the Eau Claire Butterfly Club, watching movies, playing computer games and being outdoors to enjoy the flower garden and the little scampering critters.
Even though she had cerebral palsy from birth and was confined to a wheelchair, she always had a positive attitude and was an inspiration to all she met.
She will be dearly missed by her parents, Jeanette and Morris Riley of Chippewa Falls; her brother, Rod Riley of Phoenix, AZ; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; caregiver and special friend, Charles Railey; and childhood friend, Bekki Bahr.
She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 7 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, with Rev. Christine Emerson officiating. Spring interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
AFTERSERVICE
A funeral service for Renee Jean Riley, 52, of Eau Claire was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 7 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. The Rev. Nathan Aaseng officiated and music was provided by organist, Roxanne Litchfield-Holey and soloist, Mark Juergens. Casket bearers were Veryl Metcalf, Lehman Larsen, Arthur and Roland Buchli. Spring interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.
