Riley R. McCanna, 15, of Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, died unexpectedly Monday, April 14, 2014 fighting depression. Riley's tissue and organs were donated to those in need. His life will live on in those who received this special gift.
He was born July 20, 1998 in Chippewa Falls to Kari (Schwab) and Dr. Terrence McCanna. He was a freshman at Chippewa Falls High School. Riley was a charming, intelligent, handsome young man with a soft, quiet, troubled soul. He enjoyed pop tarts, his own homemade lemonade, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Veggies? Not so much. He was a talented skateboarder and snowboarder and a sweet, generous, encouraging friend.
Survivors include his loving parents, Terry and Kari; two awesome brothers, Max and Cooper, all of Chippewa Falls; maternal grandparents, Richard and Nadine Schwab of Madison; aunts and uncles, Maryanne Wray, Margaret Quigley, Katie (Joe) Corbett, Patty McCanna, Mary Leonard, Michael (Kathy) McCanna, Peter (Mary Kay) McCanna, Philip (Carol) McCanna, Kevin McCanna, Roy (Rose) McCanna, Kent (Lisa) Schwab, Brian (Tammi) Schwab and many beautiful and loving cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Philip and Lois McCanna; uncle, Jerome Wray and a recently deceased cousin, David McCanna who Riley loved dearly.
Riley's true passion was skateboarding so his memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 19 in a tent at the Skateboard Park in Chippewa Falls located near Bernard Willi Pool and the Marshall Ball Field. Dress seasonally. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls, who are providing cremation and so many other caring and thoughtful services. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the Skateboard Park.
The McCanna family is grateful and amazed at the volume of love and support given by an infinite number of friends and family. They wish to thank all their friends, Pederson-Volker, and Riley's many physicians including, Jane Byrd, Mary Landwehr, Family Health Associates, Chippewa Pharmacy, and Drs. Bayola and Lace at Sacred Heart.

AFTERSERVICE
A memorial service for Riley R. McCannna, 15, of Chippewa Falls was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 19 at the Skate Park in Chippewa Falls. Rileys great-aunt, Joan Pape officiated during the service and music was provided by Maddie and Claire Parker. Numerous family members and friends shared memories of Riley. Interment will be at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
