Robert Sippel

Robert M. Sippel, 81, of 4106 145th St., Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie, died Wed. evening, Dec. 1 2010 at Colfax Health & Rehabilitation in Colfax, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

He was born March 20, 1929 in Eau Claire, the son of Ida (Windsor) and Alvin Sippel. He was raised in the town of Hallie, attended Gower Grade School and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1948. He entered the U.S. Army in 1948 and was stationed in Germany for four years. He also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for seven years.

Bob married Edith G. Buttner on Oct. 26, 1952 in Weiden, Germany. After their marriage they resided in Rockford, Ill., where he was employed at National Lock Co., then at Chrysler Corp. in Belvedere, Ill. from 1966 until retiring in 1991. While at Chrysler he was a member of the United Auto Workers. He and Edith moved to Chetek in 1991 where they resided until moving to the village of Lake Hallie in 2003.
