Roger Roder

Roger E. Roder, 76, of 1130 Water St., Chippewa Falls, died Monday, May 24, 2010 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

He was born March 2, 1934 in Chippewa Falls to Marion (Ravy) and Ernest Roder. He was raised in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1952. He then attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering, majoring in electronics. He owned and operated Roger's TV & Appliance in Chippewa Falls for over 40 years, until his retirement.

Roger was an active bowler and golfer for many years. He also belonged to serveral electronics associations and was a member of the Moose Lodge. He loved old time music, Polka Fest, basketball, baseball, concerts and traveling with his special friend, Marie.

Survivors include: two sisters, Ethel Vance, Betty (Ronald) Petrich all of Chippewa Falls; one brother, Richard (Pat) Roder of Vicksburg, Mich.; special friend, Marie West and her family of Chippewa Falls; three nephews, Ehren Roder, Brian Petrich, Darrin Vance and one niece, Michelle Vance.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Jim Vance.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 29 at Zion Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls with Rev. Dr. Gary Paul officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Friday May 28 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the service at the church.
