Ronald Marek Sr

Ronald J. Marek, Sr., 74, Chippewa Falls. On May 12, 2011 the Good Lord tapped Ron on his shoulder and said, "Time's up Ron, you're coming with Me."

He was born March 16, 1937 in Bloomer to Marion (Hansen) and Richard Marek. He was raised in Bloomer where he attended St. Paul's Catholic Grade School and Bloomer High School. He entered the U.S. Navy July 1954 where he served as an Aviation Mechanic on the USS Shangri la Aircraft Carrier until being honorably discharged in January 1958.

He resided in Kenosha and was employed as a maintenance mechanic at America Motors and as an auto mechanic at Truesdell Oil in Kenosha. He retired as an Electrical Maintenance Foreman from Johns-Manville in Waukegon, Ill. After his retirement he resided in Bloomer and later moved to Chippewa Falls.

Left to remember Ron are his three daughters, Robyn (Dan) Woods and Christine Miller of Kenosha, Michele (Steve) Robinson of Plymouth; a son Ronald J. Marek, Jr. of Chippewa Falls; his foster sons, Larry McHugh of Lake Geneva and Frank (Rita) Lucas of Kenosha; two sisters, Naomi (Marlyn) Much of Ladysmith, Carol (Paul) Hable of Bloomer; a brother, Douglas Marek of Chippewa Falls; eight grandchildren, Brianna (Rick) Woods-Cornog, Jamie Woods, Kenny, Andrea and Casai Miller, Ronald J. Marek, III, Lauren and Steven Robinson; a great-grandson, Ryder and his beloved brother-in-law, Albert (Evelyn) Sohmer.

He was preceded in death by: his parents and brothers, Robert and Richard Marek.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls with Rev. D.J. Rasner of the English Lutheran Church of Bateman officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council. Private interment will be in St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery, Bloomer.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral chapel.

A funeral service for Ronald J. Marek, Sr., 74, Chippewa Falls was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls. The Rev. D.J. Rasner of the English Lutheran Church of Bateman officiated and Ron's son, Ronald Marek, Jr. shared personal reflections. Military honors were conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council and Alec Bohan bugled "Taps.". Private interment will be in St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery, Bloomer.
