Rosemary L. Horel, 73, of Bloomer, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Rutledge Home Assisted Living in Chippewa Falls.
She was born September 17, 1941 in Cadott to Margaret (Plass) and Ervin Seichter. She was raised in the country and attended St. Joseph's Grade School in Cadott and graduated from Cadott High School in 1959.
Rosemary married Joseph Horel on May 12, 1973 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Boyd. They resided on Lake Wissota prior to purchasing their home near Bloomer. She worked at Presto and Mason Shoe, both factory and mail department and retired in June 2009 from XMI Tie Factory in Chippewa Falls.
She spent time at home raising their two daughters and they attended St. Peter's Catholic Church in Tilden. Rosie was an active member of St. Monica's Church Circle and involved in the St. Peter's School activities with her girls. She was also active in the Haycreek Ramblers 4-H Club in Tilden. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and enjoyed her yard, camping, fishing, gardening and going to the cabin.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy (Eli) Ford of Chippewa Falls, Tracy (Joel) Klatt of Grantsburg; two granddaughters, Faith and Hope; two sisters, Leona (Sylvan) Rothbauer of Bloomer, Delores Woychik of Arcadia; two brothers, John (Marylee) Seichter of Holcombe, Jerome Seichter of Boyd; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine "Shorty" Seichter of Cadott, Lorraine Horel of Eau Claire; two brothers-in-law, Lawrence Komro of Chippewa Falls and Charles Richter of Arlington Heights, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph in 1999; four sisters, Marcella Schumaker, Lucille Komro, Irene Deirich and Patricia Seichter in infancy; three brothers, Clarence, Bernard and Richard Seichter; five sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Margaret and Laurie Seichter, Margie Horel and Josephine Richter; three brothers-in-law, Paul Woychik, Eugene "Buck" Deirich, and William Horel.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 31 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Tilden.Fr. Ed Shuttleworth will celebrate the Mass. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Eau Claire.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, October 30 and until 10:30 a.m, Friday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel. A prayer service led by Deacon Dan Rider will take place at 6:45 p.m. during the visitation Thursday evening at the funeral chapel.
