Roy Mayberry

d. November 23, 2012

11 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Christ Episcopal Church, 624 Bay St., Chippewa Falls

Roy William Mayberry Jr., 83 , passed away peacefully on Friday, November 23, 2012 in Las Vegas, NV. Roy was born in Dayton, OH, October 3, 1929. He lived with his parents, Rachel and Roy Mayberry, and younger brother, Ted, in Dayton through grade and high school.

Roy attended and graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio earning a BBA and an MA in business and economics. He was a member of Delta Upsilon social fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity, and Beta Gamma Sigma honorary fraternity.

On September 10, 1950, Roy married Antonia (Toni) Marie Julagay in Brooklyn, New York. He and his family joined the Mason Shoe Family in April of 1966. Roy accepted the Mason job without looking at the community, because he knew he and his family would love Chippewa Falls. He was absolutely correct; they loved the area and their home on Lake Wissota. Roy retired from Mason Shoe in 1994 and was very proud of his association with the Mason Shoe Company.

Roy is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Toni Mayberry, sons Andrew (Nan) Mayberry, John (Yvonne) Mayberry, 4 granddaughters, Jessica (Joe), Van Derven Marisa Mayberry, Missie (Jeff) Rohrscheib, and Mindy (David) Rosenberger. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Rachel and Nicholas Van Derven, Olivia Mayberry, Taylor and Tyson Rohrscheib and Luke and Madyson Rosenberger.

Pres (as he was affectionately called by his sons) loved the Packers and his "hillbilly" music. He enjoyed strumming on his guitars and ukuleles. His humor and warmth will be missed by all who loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held at eleven o'clock Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Christ Episcopal Church, 624 Bay Street, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. Online condolences can be made at office@pedersonvolker.com
