Ruth F. Mueller went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the age of 94.
Ruth and her twin sister Ruby were born in Bloomer on February 2, 1920 to Paul and Martha Rufledt. Ruth grew up on a farm in rural Jim Falls. After graduating from Bloomer High School, Ruth went to college in Eau Claire.
In 1938, her sister Mildred introduced her to Marvin Mueller from Chippewa Falls. They were married on December 9, 1943 in Laurel MS while Marvin was serving in the Army. Ruth lived in Chippewa Falls while Marvin was stationed in England. Three years later, when Marvin was discharged from the Army, the couple moved to Cadott where they owned a business and where 3 of their 5 children were born. When Marvin went to work for Kelvinator, the family moved to Golden Valley MN in 1951 and lived there for several years until moving back to Chippewa Falls and purchasing a home on Lake Wissota in 1955. The family grew by 2 more children over the next few years. Ruth lived on Lake Wissota until moving into the city of Chippewa Falls in 1985. Her career life included the Chippewa Woolen Mill, 4 years at Luther Hospital, 18 years at the Northern Center, and in her retirement, several years as a home care attendant.
Ruth was a long time member of Zion United Methodist church and an active member of the community. She participated in many church circles, the Christian Womens Club, the school mentor program, Triniteam, and volunteering at nursing homes. When her children were growing up she was also a church camp counselor, Sunday school teacher and a leader in both the Girl and Boy Scout programs. She enjoyed music, gardening, cooking, crocheting, knitting, traveling, and swimming. She also truly loved visiting, singing and playing games with friends and family.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Alfreda Mohr, Albert Rufledt, and Ruby Knoepke; husband Marvin in 1965; and daughters, Judi Rowe and Joan Gutknecht in 2008; in addition to many other dear friends and family members over the years.
