Shirley A. Cheever, 63, of Chippewa Falls, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, under the care of Heartland Hospice at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls.
Shirley was born to Earl and Cora Schick in the town of Eagle Point, WI, on December 11, 1952. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School with the class of 1970. Shirley attended Nursing School at the Vocational and Technical College in Eau Claire, graduating as an LPN. She was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital for 2 years, Chippewa Manor and Sacred Heart Hospital for 7 years, then worked at Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation for the next 21 years. Nursing was truly her passion. She also liked camping, crocheting, fishing, gardening and most of all loved being with her family.
Shirley is survived by her father, Earl (Dawn) Schick of Jim Falls; son, Ben (Natasha) of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Tony, Gavin, Ryan and Benjamin; sisters, Kathy (Andy) Heying of Elk Mound, and Bonnie Boelter of Markesan, WI; brothers, Carl (Alice) of Jim Falls, Ken (Maryna) of Chippewa Falls, Keith (Jackie) of Chippewa Falls, Randy (Carol) of Chippewa Falls, Donald of Jim Falls and Terry of Midlothian, TX; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Cora; husband, Clifton; and son, Tony.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Robert Hoekstra will be officiating. Interment will be in Copp Cemetery, town of Anson, Chippewa County.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Shirley Cheever Nursing Scholarship at CVTC Foundation, 620 W. Clairemont Avenue, Eau Claire WI, 54701.
