Shirley D. Clark, 83, of Eau Claire, formerly of Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire.

She was born November 17, 1928 in Cornell to Bessie (Snider) and Frank Runkle. She grew up in Chetek and attended school there.

Shirley married Richard "Dick" Clark on December 11, 1971 in Chippewa Falls. She and Dick loved to travel, taking many driving trips all over the country.

For much of her life, Shirley worked as a waitress at area restaurants. She and Dick moved to Seattle for several years, and later to Edgewater, Florida to be close to relatives. Due to a hurricane that struck Edgewater, they were forced to move and returned to the area in 2005. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and the camaraderie at the Twirl Inn in Chippewa Falls.

She is survived by her husband, Dick of Eau Claire; daughters, Brenda (William) Weable of Algona, WA, Sally (Craig) Hanson of Sumner, WA; son, Rodney (Carol) Barnes of Spring Green; sister, Carol Wild of Isle, MN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Roxie; and a brother, Franklin Runkle Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 11 at Central Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Rick Hoyme officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

AFTERSERVICE

A memorial service for Shirley D. Clark, 83, of Eau Claire, was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Central Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Rick Hoyme officiated and music was provided by Christine Hitt. The eulogy was given by nephew, John Neira. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
