Stella Mary Dobrowolski, age 98 of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Chippewa Manor while under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.
She was born third child of Frank and Mary (Babiarz) Hallas in Mosinee, WI, on October 13, 1916. Stella married Henry Dobrowolski in Mosinee, WI, on July 5, 1941.
Henry and Stella first bought a farm in Mosinee in 1943, and later bought a farm in Eagle Point, where they raised their four children. In 1980, they moved to the town of Lafayette, WI to be near the lake for Henry to go fishing. Stella had many hobbies that kept her busy. Each year she had a large garden and would put extra vegetables to sell at the end of her driveway. Stella was a wonderful care taker of her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards at home, the Lafayette Town Hall, and the Senior Center. Stella and Henry both loved listening to and dancing to Polka music. She could often be found making her beautiful covered hangers and embroidered pillow cases, as well as crocheting. Stella was a wonderful cook. She spent plenty of time making big meals for the family. Of course she always fried up the fresh fish Henry caught. On special occasions, she would make one of the families' favorite Polish dishes, pierogi.
Stella is survived by her daughters, Sandra Harvey and Doreen (Stanley) Lukowicz; son, Robert Dobrowolski; sister, Stephanie Pawlak; brother, John (Mitzi) Hallas; sister-in-law, Carol Hallas; Granddaughters, Linnette Geitz, Lorna Harvey, Kelly Lukowicz, Pamela (Jorge) Kroell, Kristine (Jason) Lee, Teresa Lukowicz, Erin Dalton; Grandsons, Troy (Karita) Harvey, James Lukowicz, Stanley (Deborah) Lukowicz, Daniel (Kerry) Lukowicz, Sam Dalton, Kyle Dalton, Joshua (LaShonda) Kinard; Great-granddaughters, Stephanie (Michael) Seeley, Kirsten Harvey, Rilee Harvey, Meagan Williams, Audrey Lukowicz, Jamie Lukowicz, Lauren Lukowicz, Lillian Lukowicz, London Lukowicz, Luka Lee, Natalia Lee, Jayla Kinard, Kaylia Kinard; Great-grandsons, Hunter Harvey, Easton Harvey, Zachary Lukowicz, Sabastian Lee, Joshua Kinard Jr.; Great-great granddaughter, Madyson Seeley; Great-great grandsons, Gage Carrafa and Noah Williams. Many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry; daughter, Brenda Kinard; sisters, Frances (Albert) Janik and Wanda (Eugene) Osowski; brothers, Edward Hallas, William (Irene) Hallas, Frank Hallas, Theodore (Josie) Hallas, and Walter Hallas; Brother-in-law, Chester Pawlak; and granddaughters, Kerry Lukowicz and Mara Kinard.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5th, 2015 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia Street, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the chapel. Rev. Robert Hoekstra will be officiating. Interment will be in the Bateman Cemetery, Town of Lafayette, WI.
