Private family graveside service.
Stephen J. Geissler, 59, of Manhatten, NY, formerly of Chippewa Falls, died May 14, 2012 returning from a mountain biking trip.
He was born December 29, 1952 in Chippewa Falls to Pauline and Vernon Geissler. He graduated from McDonell High School in 1971, where he played football, basketball and ran track.
Stephen continued his education at UW-EC, where he played football for the Blugolds and graduated with a degree in accounting. He moved to New York City and earned his Master's Degree from New York University.
An athlete his whole life, Stephen enjoyed working out, playing basketball, rock climbing and mountain biking.
He was very proud of and often encouraged his young daughter, Abby to excel in sports and music.
Survivors include his daughter, Abigail Geissler, age 10; former wife, Diane (Cooke) Geissler, both of Manhatten, NY; siblings, Marlene Geissler of Milwaukee, Maurice (Rita) Geissler of Chester, NY, James (Norma) Geissler of Stilwell, KS, Eugene Geissler of Shell Lake, Christene (Paul) Lubs, Kevin (Candy) Geissler, all of Chippewa Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and Vernon Geissler
A private family service with burial in Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls will be held in late June.
