Susan M. Berger, 51, passed away peacefully at home on July 17th, 2014 after her 9 month battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

She was born to Philip and Bernice (Gerth) Christopherson on October 10th, 1962, in Menomonie, WI. She graduated from Elk Mound High School in 1981. She then married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Berger on June 12th, 1982.

Susie is survived by husband, Ron; daughter Sarah (Nathan) Cravey; son Andrew; mother, Bernice; sisters Diane Christopherson, Kathy Christopherson, Laurie (Rod) Pichler; brother Steve Christopherson; grandchildren Grant, Grace, and Jackson Cravey. Susie is also survived by 31 brothers and sisters-in-law Marcia Rhodes, Marlys and Curt Wicklund, Dan and Susun Berger, Diane and Mike Krultz, John and Debi Berger, Jerry and Renee Berger, Mary and Tim Boortz, Gary and Cindy Berger, Larry and Shannon Berger, Chuck and Sue Berger, Kathy and Bernie Heit, Mike and Teri Berger, Pat and Sandy Berger, Karen and Mark Nolte, Jeff and Jenny Berger, Peggy and Dave Moore. Susie is also survived by niece Emily Pichler as well as 88 other nieces and nephews; by her cousins and friends, and by her dearest friends Susan Seeber and Mary Gunn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Philip Christopherson; father-in-law Clarence Berger; mother-in-law Isabel (Keeler) Berger; and nephew Michael Christopherson.

Susie was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her greatest joy was making those around her happy while always putting the needs of others above her own. Susie did just that while working at McDonald's as a hostess for 13 years; greeting others with a welcome and a smile each and every day. Her faith and trust in God helped her through both times of laughter and times of tears.

Susie's family thanks the staff of Eau Claire Medical, Sacred Heart Hospital, and St. Joseph's Hospice for their care, compassion, and professionalism.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 22 at Zion Christian Fellowship, 11555 35th Ave., Chippewa Falls (Lake Hallie), WI 54729 with Pastor Keith Gunn officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Menomonie.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Monday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E Columbia St., Chippewa Falls, WI 54729 and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
