Susan G. Tyler, 69, formerly of Nebraska and 609 High St., Chippewa Falls, died Aug. 25, 2011 at Comforts of Home in Chippewa Falls.
She was born February 2, 1942 in Danville, Ill. to Doris (Ames) and Alfred Tyler. She was raised in Chippewa Falls, where she attended Chestnut Grade School and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1960.
Susan married James R. Barnett on April 6, 1961. She then married Kim Nelson in 1968 in Eau Claire. Throughout her lifetime, Susan lived in various locations including Duluth, Minn., North Platte, McCook, Bayard and Lincoln, Neb., and Denver, Colo. Her desire was to return to her hometown of Chippewa Falls, which she did in 2000.
She worked for Lady Venus Cosmetics in sales. She won many awards during that time, including a new car before retiring in 1990. She then cared for mentally challenged adults and also for the elderly and disabled in their homes.
Susan was known for her contagious laughter, beautiful smile and generous heart. She loved animals and if life had taken a different path, she would have never been without them. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed feeding anyone who came to her home.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kathryn (Tim) Kotschwar of Geneva, Neb., Amy (Tisha Cohick) Still of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a son, Andrew (Ludy) Nelson of Stillwater, Okla.; two brothers, Jay Scott (Deanna) Tyler and Tom (Karen) Tyler; four grandchildren, Max Kugler, Ashley Allberry, Jessica Allberry and Amanda Still and other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents.
A funeral service will be at 6 p.m., Sept. 15, 2011 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls with Rev. Dr. Barry Boyer of First Presbyterian Church, Chippewa Falls officiating.
Memorials may be made to the family.
