Thomas Ackerman

Thomas D. Ackerman, 63, of 16762 50th Ave., Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, died quietly Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Transitions at Wissota Health in Chippewa Falls after his year long battle with cancer.

He was born February 26, 1946 in Eau Claire, the son of Raymond and Florence (Bushendorf) Ackerman. He grew up in Elk Mound where he graduated from high school in 1964. He was employed at Uniroyal from 1964 until retiring in 1990. He was then employed at Chippewa Valley Roofing and Siding and was a self-employed carpenter.

Tom's life long pleasures were in the great outdoors. He loved to garden. He enjoyed fishing the lakes and deer hunting in the north woods of Wisconsin. He enjoyed vacationing in Mexico with Roxie and family, taking in the sunrises and sunsets against the backdrop of the ocean.
