Thomas Stanton

Thomas G. Stanton, 74, of 2773 County Hwy OO, Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie, died Wednesday, August, 18, 2010 at Wissota Health Reflections Unit in Chippewa Falls.

He was born April 9, 1936 in Eau Claire, the son of Fern (Boutan) and George E. Stanton. He was raised in Eau Claire where he also graduated from high school. Tom served honorably in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana and in Germany.

Tom married Mary E. Hollingsworth on September 13, 1958 in Anderson, Indiana. They resided in Eau Claire where he was employed at Uniroyal. He was also a brick layer and roofer until joining the maintanence department at UW Eau Claire where he was employed for 26 years until retiring in 1994. He and his wife have resided in the village of Lake Hallie since 2000.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary; two daughters, Colleen (Joe) Bishop of Colorado Springs, Colo., Suzanne Murkley of Boyd; five sons, Gregory (Karen) Stanton of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Thomas Stanton Jr. of Galesville, Timothy (Lisa) Stanton of Altoona, Scott Stanton and Nicholas (Bobbi) Stanton all of Chippewa Falls; two sisters, Suellen (Vern) Smith and Virginia Stanton all of Holcombe; one brother, Mark (Keri) Stanton of Preston; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents and two brothers, Patrick and Grady Stanton.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 23, 2010 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls with Rev. Fr. Robert Hoekstra of St. Josephs's Hospice officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.

Friends may call one hour prior to the the service Monday at the funeral chapel.

A funeral service for Thomas G. Stanton, 74, of Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie was held at 11a.m., Monday, August 23, 2010 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls with Rev. Fr. Robert Hoekstra of St. Joseph's Hospice officiating. Interment with military honors was in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner. Casket bearers were: sons, Scott and Nicholas Stanton and grandsons, Michael, Daniel, Tony and Cody Stanton.
