Timothy Western Johnson, 44, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Menomonie, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 surrounded by his family and while under the care of Mayo Clinic Hospice.
He was born October 25, 1970 in Eau Claire to Marilynn (Western) and David Johnson. He graduated from Ames High School, Ames, Iowa in 1989.
Tim served as a Communications Technician in the U.S. Navy and the Naval Reserve from 1989 until his honorable discharge in 1994. He continued his education, earning a Bachelor's Degree from Iowa State University. Tim then worked as a software developer with Multi-Media Pathways in the Bay Area of California, before attending UW-Stout and completing his Master's degree in Training and Development.
Tim worked for Aurora Services as a Job Coach for several years before becoming a lecturer at UW-Stout in the Operations & Management Department, where he taught online courses in Training and Development.
You could often find Timothy at a local coffee shop or caf, making new friends and savoring good coffee and good conversation. He enjoyed technology, working with computers and online teaching. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed being involved with his church, Cedarbrook Church, in Menomonie, or more recently, Jacob's Well, in Chippewa Falls.
He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Chloe Johnson of Boise, ID; parents, Marilynn and David Johnson, Sr.; a brother, David Johnson, Jr., all of Chippewa Falls; a sister, Laurie (Kent) Schmidt of Emmetsburg, IA; former wife, Christy Johnson of Boise, ID; nieces and nephews, Josiah, Katelynn, Mari, Emily and William Schmidt; aunts and uncles, Arlene (James) Wright, Judy Drivas, all of Chippewa Falls; Dick (Sue) Johnson of Minong, Roland (Connie) Johnson of Eau Claire, Linda (Richard) Benoit of Lynchburg, VA, Dale Crowell of Southern Pines, NC; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Florence and Arleigh Western; paternal grandparents, Gloria and Richard Johnson; aunt, Marie Crowell; and uncle, Peter Drivas.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 31 at Jacob's Well with Rev. Paul Berthiume officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. service, with lunch following on Saturday January 31 at the Jacob's Well church, Chippewa Falls.
AFTERSERVICE
A memorial service for Timothy Western Johnson, 44, was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 31 at Jacob's Well, Chippewa Falls. Pastor Paul Berthiaume officiated and music was provided by vocalist Tamara Fanjoy. Tony Engedal and Timothy's brother, David Johnson Jr. read entries from Timothy's journal. Interment will be held in the spring at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
