Ronald Alden Vader, 81, of Chippewa Falls, died suddenly on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.
He was born July 6, 1932 in Eau Claire, the son of Myrtle (Sylvester) and Melvin Vader. He was raised in Eau Claire and graduated from Memorial High School in 1950. Following high school, Ron served in the U.S. Army with duty in the states and Germany. After being honorably discharged, he went to DeVry Technical College where he earned an Electrical Engineering Degree.
Ron married June Robertson on December 18, 1955. They resided briefly in Chicago, IL and then in Brooklyn Center, MN for eight years, until moving to Chippewa Falls in 1965.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls.
Ron worked as an electrical engineer at Johnson Plastics & Machinery for several years and then at Bloomer Plastics until his retirement on October 31, 2013 at the age of 81!
Survivors include his wife, June of Chippewa Falls; two daughters, Cindy (Dick) Dalbey of Fort Collins, CO, Nancy Buckli of Chippewa Falls; three grandchildren, Jen (Shawn) Ambuehl of Burnsville, MN, Rob Wampler of Apple Valley, MN, Ben Buckli (fiance, Emmilee Swoboda) of Chippewa Falls; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Kaelyn Ambuehl. He is also survived by two brothers, Eugene (Pat) Vader of Franklin, PA, Donald (Pauline) Vader of Racine, WI; brother-in-law, Bob (Linda) Robertson; sister-in-law, Jeanetta Robertson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Myrtle and Melvin Vader; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Mayme Robertson; and two brothers-in-law, LeRoy and Neil Robertson.
Ron will always be remembered for his unending love and generosity to his family. He was a jack-of-all-trades. Whenever something needed to be fixed or a problem needed to be solved, he was the first to help out and always had a solution. He loved to tinker, garden, fish and most of all spend time with his family. He was the smartest, sweetest and most caring man you could ever find. He will be greatly missed!
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, November 25 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Terri Koca officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Sunday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
Memorials in Rons honor may be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church or to Irvine Park.
AFTERSERVICE
A funeral service for Ronald Alden Vader, 81, of Chippewa Falls, was held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, November 25 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Terri Koca officiated and music was provided by organist, Kathy Tanner and soloist, Carl Cronquest. Interment with military honors conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls and Thomas Eder Jr. bugled taps. Casket bearers were Shawn Ambuehl, Dick Dalbey, Rob Wampler, Ben Buckli and Dan Boos
