Vernetta E. Larson, 93, of Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Chippewa Manor Nursing Home under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.

Vernetta was born January 22, 1923 in Chippewa Falls to Louis and Elanora Rineck.

On June 20, 1940 she married Donald Bowell. They started their family in Hatchville, Wisconsin and later divorced.

She married Joseph Petel on October 19, 1957. They resided in Menomonie and were members of Peace Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death in 1974.

Vernetta later married Lyman Larson and he preceded her in death in 1990.

Dancing was Vernetta's passion and she danced well into her 80's. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.

Vernetta is survived by her children, Donna (Glen) Fisher of Menomonie, Patricia (Norm Anderson) Watton of Chippewa Falls, and Duane (Mary) Bowell of Menomonie; grandchildren, Vincent, Bradley, Kendall, Kirk, Cynthia, Dinah and Tony; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Deanna Franklin of Menomonie; and brothers, Arnie Rineck of Baldwin, Roger Rineck of New Richmond and Larry Rineck of Glenwood City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Donald Bowell, Joseph Petel and Lyman Larson; sisters, Marcella Wagner and Ardella Worrell; brothers, Louis "Bud" Rineck, James Rineck and Jon Rineck; grandsons, Monty Watton, Brent Wold and Chet Bowell; and son-in-law, Gary Watton.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Curt Rohland officiating. Interment will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Menomonie.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
