Vickie Jean (Asmussen) Ellis, 65, of Eau Claire, passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2015 while on vacation in Pensacola, Florida.
She was born January 4, 1950 in Eau Claire to Barbara (Amundson) and Lester Asmussen.
On June 20, 1972, she married Charles H. Ellis in Killeen, TX. Together they had three sons, Jeffrey, Quentin and Justin.
Vickie worked at Aurora Services in Eau Claire for manyyears until her retirement in January 2014. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and going to movies. She and her sisterCheryl took weekly shopping trips to stock their shelves with Bath & Body Works supplies, an activity the family will be reminded fondly of whenever they open their cupboards and see the collection of soaps, lotions and other products. Vickie also loved spending time with her grandchildren, holding many "grandma camps" over the years...memories that will be cherished.
She will be dearly missed by her mother, Barbara Melby; sons, Quentin Ellis, Justin (Sara) Ellis; siblings, Michael (Kathy) Asmussen, Cheryl (George) Brock, Diane (Lloyd) Ziebell, Gayle (Mitchell) Clark; grandchildren, Kodie Leikness, Kaylyn Ellis, Tyler Ellis, Andrea Ellis, Emily Ellis; two great-grandchildren; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and her two beloved dogs.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey; her ex-husband Charles; father, Lester; stepfather, Robert Melby; maternal grandparents, Meredith and Clarence Amundson; and paternal grandparents, Lester and Josephine Asmussen.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, February 16 at Chippewa Valley Bible Church, Chippewa Falls with Pastor Alan Dunham officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m., Monday at the church.
AFTERSERVICE
A memorial service for Vickie Jean Ellis was held at 5 p.m., Monday, February 16 at Chippewa Valley Bible Church, Chippewa Falls. Pastor Alan Dunham officiated, scripture was read by great-nephew, Andy Stoll and the eulogy was given by sister, Cheryl Brock.
