Victoria L. "Vicky" Ness, age 57, of Chippewa Falls, passed away at home on May 4th, 2013 following a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Vicky was born February 26, 1956 in Chippewa Falls, the youngest daughter of Albert and Evelyn (Ryan) LaFaive. She attended Holy Ghost elementary school and graduated from McDonell High School in 1974. She attended Chippewa Valley Technical College, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse and furthered her education to become a Registered Nurse. Her places of work include: the Northern Center, Dove Health Care, Sacred Heart Hospital, and, most recently, Mayo Clinic in the Pre and Post Operative Recovery Unit. There, she developed special bonds with her co-workers, both professionally and socially.

Vicky married Daniel Kersten in 1979 and had two children from this marriage. They later divorced. In 1993, she married John Ness. Vicky was enormously proud of her children.

She was an avid reader who also enjoyed gardening and walking her dogs. She loved to spend summer days with her friends and family on Lake Wissota: dining out, playing games, and boating.

She is survived by: her husband John; sons John (Jenny) Cook and Conrad Kersten; daughter Courtney Kersten; grandchildren Ethan, Evan, and Issac Cook; three sisters, Delores Albert, Patricia (Cliff) Kuster, and Diane (Donovan) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 11 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m., Friday, May 10 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
