Virginia M. (Roycraft) Gingras, 92, of Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Chippewa Manor.

She was born January 20, 1922, the daughter of Valida (LeMay) and Howard Roycraft.

Virginia graduated from the UW Eau Claire with a degree in elementary education. During her 34 year teaching career, she taught mostly in the Chippewa Falls school system, including eight years in rural one room schools.

On August 19, 1950, she married Harold Gingras. They resided in Chippewa Falls, enjoying life together both in town and on Lake Wissota.

She was a member of Notre Dame Parish in Chippewa Falls.

Survivors include her husband Harold of Chippewa Falls; a daughter, Julie (R. William) Ellwein of Winona, MN; a son, Gordon "Tom" (Debbie) of St. Cloud, MN; a sister, Brynda (Edward) Raether of Chippewa Falls; nieces, Rhonda (Kenneth) Pearson, Rebecca (Thomas) Asselin, Rene Roycraft; and a nephew Rick Roycraft.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eunice Smith and Gertrude Foiles; a brother, Howard Roycraft; two brothers-in-law, Edward Smith and Earl Foiles; and a sister-in-law, Doris Roycraft.

A celebration of Virginia's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 30 at the Church of Notre Dame with Fr. Ed Shuttleworth officiating. Interment will be at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cadott.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the charity or organization of your choice.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral mass for Virginia M. (Roycraft) Gingras, 92, of Chippewa Falls was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 30 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, Chippewa Falls. The Very Rev. Ed Shuttleworth and Fr. Robert Cook officiated at the funeral mass, assisted by Seminarian Dan Thelen. Readings were given by Barbara McIlquham and Tina Simmons and gift bearers were Barbara Burfisher and Barbara McIlquham. Interment was at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, town of Sigel. Casket bearers were Bill Ellwein, Rick Roycraft, Tom Asselin, Tony Roth, Ed Raether and Ken Taylor.
