Wayne G. Anderson, 88, died, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Chippewa Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation in Chippewa Falls.

He was born October 18, 1924 in Barron to Retta (Bellows) and Henning Anderson.

Wayne proudly served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII from April 1943 until being honorably discharged in December 1945. His tour in the South Pacific spurred several stories that his family heard many, many times. One of the highlights of his service was in 2010, when he joined the Veterans Flight of Honor tour to Washington D.C. with a plane full of his fellow WWII heroes.

In August 1947, he married Winnifred Quigley. They resided in Eau Claire, where Wayne worked as a pharmacist at Sacred Heart Hospital until his retirement. Winnifred preceded him in death.

Wayne married Patricia Anne Quigley on October 16, 1976 at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls. They resided in Eau Claire until 2001, when they moved to Chippewa Falls.

Survivors include thirteen children, Francis Frank Anderson of Reno, Nevada, Margaret Ann Anderson of Florida, Geraldine (Tom) Peterson of Manitowoc, Dan (Lynn) Anderson of Waukesha, Patrick (Julie) Anderson of Holly Springs, NC; step-children, Jeanne (Denny) Boisvert of Lake Holcombe, Joan (special friend, Wally Chevrier) Quigley of Chippewa Falls, John (Lynette) Quigley of Eau Claire, Jim (Denyse) Quigley of Chippewa Falls, Mary Pat (Ron) Giles of River Falls, Gerylanne (Mark) Falch of Chippewa Falls, Tom (Jaci) Quigley of Eau Claire, Bill Quigley of Middleton; a sister, Mary Jane Gilbert of Bloomington, MN; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Winnifred; his second wife, Patricia; sister, Evelyn Schuler; brothers-in-law, Donovan and Gerald Quigley; and a daughter-in-law, Catherine Quigley.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, May 11 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Eau Claire, with Fr. Eugene Klink officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner at a later date.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Wayne considered himself a very lucky man, always expressing his love for all thirteen of his children. He always said he was very proud of each of them. He was a man of grace who influenced many besides his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials in Waynes honor may be designated to the Patricia Quigley-Anderson Endowment Fund, c/o The Community Foundation of Chippewa County, the Cystic Fibrosis Society, or St. Judes Hospital.
